Lily bulbs are fantastic for any garden and also make great gifts for your fellow gardeners. Lilies like full sun to partial shade. The bloom period varies depending on variety, but some start blooming in late spring while others may bloom at the end of the season. The lily is a tall and upright plant, and they come in many colors. Many lilies today are hybrids. When cutting a lily for display, cut it when the buds have not quite started to open, but have color. For best results, cut the stem at an angle to allow more water flow in the stem. This makes them last longer. Lily bulbs for sale come in many kinds, so it is hard to decide what to buy. Pick good quality bulbs for planting. Some of my favorite lily colors are the bright oranges and yellows. Putting a couple of these in a flower arrangement brings it to life. If you have any gardening enthusiasts as neighbors of family members, lilies are great gifts as well. Lilies can be propagated by division of bulbs, scaling, seed, and micro propagation. The easiest way is probably by division of bulbs. When deciding on location to plant these bulbs, also consider the colors of the other plants leaves and blooms that will be around them. This can add to the overall continuity of the garden. With proper planting and location, years of enjoyment will be had from these gorgeous flowers. With the variety that is available, your garden can look like a masterpiece.
